sewliloquies is a sewing pun inspired by soliloquy, a literary term used when “a character speaks their private thoughts aloud, often alone, revealing inner feelings to the audience.” I try to create fiber art with meaning and depth that tells a story.

I have been sewing for over 30 years, designing clothing since high school, making my first quilt in the early 90s, and exploring many different sewing avenues over the decades. For a long time, I focused on clothing, specifically “garb” or renaissance faire costuming.

My inspiration and love for quilts came from my family: my aunt Gladys, my sister Deanna, and my mom Leona. My inspiration for art began with my sister Darlene and was encouraged by my late art educator husband Oliver.

I enjoy multiple fiber crafts including sewing clothes, crochet, and embroidery.

One of my cats, Shadow, had to be involved in every sewing project. We lost him during the summer of 2025.
